Daddy's Funeral (Robert Hugill)
Donation protected
This morning Daddy, Robert L. Hugill, died at the hospital after a long hard battle. He had been in and out of the hospital but this last time, his heart failed and he just couldnt fight anymore. He was a remarkable man, a leader, a coach, a mentor, founder of the Lakewood Youth Athletic Association and The Lakewood Lumberjacks, as well as a US Air Force member, and a Pierce County Sheriff.
He became brain damaged and physically disabled in 1983 because of a botched surgery. At that time, he was dead for 32 minutes and had quite a story when he came back, and was rehabilitated enough to speak. God gave him the choice to come back to us, telling him bluntly that if he did, his journey would be a tough one. Without a second thought, Daddy agreed. For 37 years, that man struggled in mind and body, but somehow always found his smile and touched others lives in ways he will never know.
His wife, Daisy Hugill, is now faced with funeral costs and the overwhelming task of trying to live without her best friend and high school sweetheart. Married 53 years, Momma never once left his side, while many other women would have ran. She gave up every hope and dream she had for her own life to take care of Daddy. She will need your prayers more than ever now.
Daddy wanted to stay in his beloved city of Lakewood and at the Mountain View Funeral Home to be with our other family members buried there. We are asking in lieu of flowers that donations go toward burial costs.
Thank you for all your prayers, love and support. It is all so appreciated.
