My name is Cade Dougherty, I am Joshie’s cousin. I just flew to California yesterday 3/7, from Chicago.

Joshie was trying to make a play on the baseball field last Saturday, and he got in a bad collision. He was sprinting and dove for the ball and collided with his teammate. Joshua sustained a material fracture to the skull and part of it shattered into several pieces. He was rushed to UCI Irvine in Orange.  He was rushed into emergency surgery to remove the collapsed skull that was putting pressure on the brain.  His skull was cracked and part of it hit and pierced Josh's brain. The injury to his brain is to the talking and understanding part. We are praying for Josh, while realizing that the road to recovery will likely be long. Joshie is currently at UCI Health hospital in Orange County.

Given the injury, and the extended stay in the hospital and God willing rehab, the cost will be heavy. We're hoping to help carry this burden with the Sanchez family. 

Please consider giving, and continuing to pray for Joshie and his family. Given the freshness of the injury, we can only estimate costs and needs.
