On Friday, March 4, 2016, Matthew Albrecht's life was cut tragically short in a car crash. The shock and sadness of losing Matthew has left his single mom dealing with an emotional toll that no parent should ever have to bear. Beyond the pain are the financial burdens of planning her son's funeral.

She is not in a position to ask for help and yet she needs it, which is why this account was created.

Please help support a private natured, grief stricken mother with the final expenses for Matthew and to help support her financially through her grieving process.

This is a tangible way that we can embrace her with love by placing our virtual arms around her.

Thank you so much.

***Memorial Service: Saturday, March 19, 2016 // 11:00 a.m. Silverton High School Gymnasium Silverton, Oregon 97381***

Amazing! Amazing...is who you all are. In less than 7 hours over $3,000 has poured in for Matthew's mom, to help ease the financial burden of funeral expenses and her mourning time. You ALL are a REAL visual of what a TRUE community looks like! I've been working on individual thank yous (If you haven't received a thank you note yet...please know it's coming), but I wanted to give a general shout out and thank you to everyone who has donated to this fund thus far, before I go to bed. THANK YOU! Remember no donation is to small and if you feel led to share this GoFundMe page, it is much appreciated. ;) Thank you again! -Jen

I have been a substitute teacher at Silverton high school for several years. The first time I met Matthew, he asked me if I was Perry Davis's mom. I told him no that I was Dylan Davis's mom but for some reason he thought that would be really funny if he always referred to me as Mrs Perry's mom. It was just part of his witty sense of humor. It was a term of endearment. I always look forward to having Matthew in class because he brought a positive energy and joy for life. Kids seem to be drawn to him and his witty sense of humor. He was a joy to be around and I will miss him forever.
