It's been a while since I have updated anyone on Jaime's recovery. He has been at the rehabilitation center for about a month now. He has been learning new skills to get through simple daily tasks. It's been a rough road that no one should have to endure. Unfortunately instead on moving forward he has to take a step back. There has been a bad complication with Jaime which resulted in a ride back to the hospital. On January 29th Jaime was taken to the hospital for an outpatient surgery which is the first step to the follow up surgery today. After this surgery he will be staying at the hospital for approximately a week and then back to the rehabilitation center where he will be on bed rest to allow healing. Needless to say this issue will set back the much needed therapy. His road is no where near the end, it's just beginning. Thank you again for the support, love and kindness everyone has provided. Please continue to donate to Jaime at this time.
Since Jaime's accident he has been battling respiratory issues. After putting up one hell of a fight, he has pulled through to the next step. About a week ago he was able to transition to a different method of breathing that allowed him to take his own breaths for the first time in 2 months with minimal assistance. To everyone's surprise on the same day he was able to have a device placed so he could speak for the first time in 2 months. This transition allowed a test to be preformed a couple of days later to see if he could eat or drink. With success he has be allowed the simple comfort we all take for granted. It's been truly amazing to see him accomplish this in a few days time. Jaime now has been transferred to a rehabilitation facility to help him strengthen those accomplishments and work on the next steps of his long journey. We understand that his road will have ups, downs or staggering moments. We take this time to enjoy this moment just in time for Christmas. Thank you to everyone for all the prayers, love and donations. We hope everyone will continue to support Jaime in every way possible. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
A whole month in Oklahoma but Jaime has made it back to Chicago! Unfortunately, he was transferred right into an ICU. Still it's one step closer in the right direction. We are lucky to have a great hospital and the available resources to provide Jaime with the best care and outcome. This road is going to be a very strenuous road in every aspect emotionally, physically, financially ect... So please don't forget about Jaime in his time of need. Get in the Christmas spirit and send prayers and donations his way.
22 days later and still in the ICU. Jaime is still fighting to be well enough to get transferred back to Chicago. It has been quite the struggle. This is a rollercoaster that no one person or family should have to ride. We are in for the long hull with many twists and turns along the way. Please keep passing the word along. Thank you to all that have donated and those who kept him in there prayers. Everything is appreciated and it will help Jaime along this journey.
