Food for Wayuu children in Colombia

Estamos recaudando fondos para ayudar a hacer frente la crisis humanitaria en La Guajira, Colombia, agravada por uno de los fenómenos meteorológicos más fuertes jamás registrados, El Niño, que ha dejado a cientos de familias indigenas Wayuus sin agua ni alimentos, vulnerables a diversas enfermedades, incluyendo el Zika. Por desgracia, los niños son las mayores victimas: cientos de ellos han muerto.

Los fondos serán recogidos a través CARING FOR COLOMBIA, en union de PROSOWA y FUNDEPAZ, organizaciones sin animo de lucro que han venido trabajando arduamente en pro de los indigenas Wayuu.
El Departamento de Prosperidad Social y la Cruz Roja Colombiana serán las entidades responsables de llevar comida y agua a las zonas más remotas de la Guajira. 

Necesitamos los fondos tan pronto como sea posible. Esperamos recaudar 30 mil dólares que daran alivio a aproximadamente 3.000 niños.

No queremos que un niño más muera por la falta de alimento y agua.

We are raising funds to help cope with a humanitarian crisis. Severe droughts in South America, especially in La Guajira, Colombia, triggered by one of the strongest El Niño weather events ever recorded, have left hundreds of Wayuus families facing food and water shortages and vulnerable diseases including Zika. Unfortunately, children are the one suffering the most: hundreds of them have died.

The funds will be collected by CARING FOR COLOMBIA, in conjunction with PROSOWA and FUNDEPAZ,  who had been working for long with the indigenous Wayuus. The Colombian Red Cross will be the entity responsible for bringing food and water to the most remote areas in La Guajira. 

We need the funds as soon as possible. We hope to raise 30 thousand dollars that will bring relieve to approximately 3.000 children. 

We do not wish to see one more child die from lack of food and water.
