Jackies Road to Recovery

On Sunday July 22nd baby Jackie had a terrible accident.  She was playing , laughing and being as joyous as always when she fell between a couch and a bed, onto a household drinking glass.   The glass shattered under Jackie and went into the back of her neck.  The glass severed Jackie's spinal cord and she went into an emergency surgery that evening.

Today Jackie is recovering from her surgery.  She is breathing on her own and even speaking to everyone around her.  Unfortunately Jackie cannot move her left leg at this time. We are hopeful and are all praying for this little girl to be able to walk again.  Jackie was always the life of any situation. She loves to run and play with her 5 year old sister, and we want nothing more than for that to be in her future again.   She is surrounded by friends and family who love her dearly and wish her nothing but love and good health.

At this time, we are asking for any contributions to help the family of Jackie.  Hospital fees , missing work and being in the middle of moving have financially taken a toll, and any and all help would be much appreciated.

Well everyone , we’re home . Finally after a long 6 weeks at the hospital we can continue with our lives, there will still be physio everyday and lots of work to do but i definitely have a miracle child. The drs prepared us for the worst and told us she would probably not regain the strength and never walk again. She is doing so amazing , this little girl is so motivated to be better it’s honestly inspiring. She’s moving her left arm and leg and making other small improvements everyday , still doesn’t have full strength but praying physio helps her regain that . My almost 3 year old is the most inspiring person in my life . She has gone through the most traumatic insane experience and has been smiling almost the entire time . From the beginning to the end this has been the most emotional rollercoaster I’ve ever experienced and again i thank everyone for the support , we have the most amazing friends and family by our sides and thank you to everyone we don’t know who has donated . It’s a huge help and relief , more than any of you would ever understand. Everyone at the children’s hospital is genuinely amazing, all of the staff there especially the social work and the nurses , Jackie has everyone’s heart . I love you all so much and again thank you x10000000000

Just an update from Jackie’s mom Kayla !
To everyone who is donating i thank you so so much . This is going to give me the opportunity to take time off work to be with Jackie and my other daughter Jolene . Majority of this money will be going into some sort or trust fund or private account specifically for the needs of Jaclyn and to cover my financial needs as i will not be working for a long time and will be spending my days caring for my kids. ♥️ thank you for your hopes and prayers . She is getting better and better each day , she started swimming physio today as well . She’s a true miracle . Love Kayla Rudichuk

Hello and thank you to all who have donated and continued to donate , you do not believe the the pressure relief this has taken from me for the financial burdens ahead of me . I’ve been working two jobs for over a year now and this helps me more than any of you could ever imagine .

As of today Jaclyn is learning to walk has physio every single day and is as happy as can be, she still struggles with day to day normalities , can’t fully use her left hand and can’t stand without being supported but she now has braces that help with teaching her to walk and build those muscles back up. The therapy team and all of the staff here at Alberta children’s hospital have been phenomenal and i now understand why there are so many great things to say about this place . Jackie is one resilient little angel and the progress is better and better every day . We love and thank you all so much for all of your support prayers and love ♥️

To all who donated thank you so much! Kayla is extremely grateful and overwhelmed by the love and support from all of you. All the funds raised will be withdrawn by me and email transferred to Kayla.

And as for Jackie. She is still in recovery , and is as lively as ever. Jackie's smiles light up the room , and she even lifted her left arm yesterday!

Again thank you to everyone's love and support through this difficult time.
