I am a PhD student studying agricultural education at the University of Florida.

Young people across the world are leaving agriculture and  rural areas, but often can't find work in cities. Globally, the average age of a farmer is around 60 years and rising.   Engaging young students in agriculture through entrepreneurship programs is one possible way to get them excited about agriculture, help them earn a living, and make rural areas a viable place to live.  

But, little is known about agricultural entrepreneurship programs that currently exist. 

Please help fund my travel and other expenses to do this research in October / November 2015. Money will go toward flights, meals, hotels, rental cars, and transcription for data collection in Nebraska, North Carolina, and Texas. 

This research has implications for anyone interested in engaging youth in agriculture and  rural places.
