Saving Maddy

Maddy is a year and a half old. We were told today by the vet that her liver enzymes are high and we have been referred to a vet in another town that is more equipped to handle her case. This referral could be because 2 years ago, we (my best friend and I) lost another dog to liver failure. Letty (the other dog) is not related to Maddy.
We need to get Maddy seen as soon as possible to hopefully keep her liver from failing. I can get her in right away, but I don't have the money to on my own. The specialist vet says it will be about $40 to walk in and they will want an x-ray which will bring the first visit up to about $200.00, not counting any medications if needed. They said they would want to see her again in about 2 weeks for more bloodwork and what ever other tests they may need to run.
My friend and I have been having some mega financial issues because my paychecks have been shorted (by the company that pays me for being my friends caregiver, due to their errors). That set us back in rent and car payments and other bills. We are slowly getting back on our feet, but with this crises with Maddy, I don't have the money to pay for the vet, x-rays or meds right now. I have exhausted other possible means to get some extra money to help. I don't have any idea how much this will cost. I put $1000 because that's what gofundme suggested. Any money we are able to raise will go for the care of Maddy and gas for getting her to and from appointments. I am so worried about her!
Maddy is a year and a half old Bishon Chihuahua mix. She is about the silliest little girl ever. She "talks" to me all the time with little grunts and growls. She has the happiest little face and the sweetest brownish pink nose. She loves to be pampered by being brushed and having a bow in her hair (but our other dog Pumpkin put an end to that by pulling her bows off and eating them). She likes dresses, but she doesn't wear them very often. She has the softest skin on her tummy and chest and neck. She loves to be held and cuddled. She takes naps on my lap. She loves to play with Pumpkin and her other two "sisters", Bella Grace (5 years old) and Sweetie (3 yrs old). Pumpkin is 6 1/2 months old. Seriously, Maddy is a silly beast. She loves to go outside and she loves to go for rides in the car. She makes the funniest and happiest noises in the car and sounds like a Guinea Pig. She gives the sweetest puppy kisses.
This little girl means the world to me. I never beg people for money. I swear it. I try not to ask people for help, but I am asking you for your help today. It's not for me, it's for Maddy. It's so we hopefully can save her life and not lose another baby to liver failure. I don't know if I can handle the heartbreak again. I don't know if I can handle the other dogs walking around the house looking for their missing sister and being sad that she isn't here.
Please, again, if you can please help us. We would be forever grateful to you any help we could get for our little Maddy. We love her so very much and there would be a big hole in our hearts if she had to leave us. I really can't express to you how much my baby means to me.
