Hi everyone
I never thought doing the right thing should get life so difficult, it is such a long stretch of time sometimes I wonder if it is still the right thing to do.
The government doesn't care about if you are doing the right thing, the others you know may not understand the right thing that you are going through.
Maybe its strangers that will help me
Maybe strangers will care that I am doing the right thing
I will begin with the story, 6 years ago, one evening after I came home from work, I found my wife Annie lying next to our dresser with her eyes wide open but obvirously unconcious, since that day we have begun a long process of dealing with my wife's seizure disorder, which turn out is caused by brain tumors.
It took two ambulence trips for the hospital to take it seriously, two years of trail and error on medicine to control it , and only in result of a brain surgery in 2013 , that have finally reduced her seizures to the level that we thought we can rebuild our life again.
During this time, I have been on and off works multiple times, unfortunately there are no family members from either side us that are able to step up and be part of this process, so for a long peroid of time we have very limited income, and thought the light of successful brain surgery in 2013 would finally allow me to go back to generate stable income again.
Things are moving up slowly but surely, and just when we about to reach a milestone of her recovery and ours, she was unfortunately suffered from a serious brain hemorrage on october 2015.
Luckily im with her and monitoring her condition almost at all times i was able to get her to hospital quick enough for emergency surgery, they put a drain to relieve the pressure and that saved her life.
She was in a coma at first and i was given pretty bad news that day where surgeons thinks it doesnt look good, however miracle and amazing things does happen, she awaken from her coma the next day and got out of danger eventurally, so the emergency surgery worked.
Luckily she didnt lose any of her physical abilities aside from minor changes, but unfornately she is suffering from a great deal of mental issue, specifically on the memory side of things, it is difficult for me to deacribe it in great details but I will try. She is suffering from short term memory lost and constantly have her old memories play as her current reality, sort of confusion if you will.
The health system, while they are doing their job, but unfornately isn't offering anything helpful and no one want to take charge of the situation, ever since she was out of the intense care, the health system have became a diffculty, she was bounce around between hospitals, I was given different opinions and plans from different people in the hospital, we cannot have any CCAC support, we cannot any help for an eye to watch her because she's physically fit.
being close to the holidays made it even worse, local hospital even somehow allow her walk out of there and gone missing for 12 hours on new years day. and afterwards, I do not know what their intention is but they attempt to send her to the psych-ward so they can lock her up to prevent this from happening, but i know they are really just trying to bounce her off some one else again, not to mention the counter lady hinted it that it was a bad idea to take her downstairs for coffee because she remembers where the door is , which that was something I was recommended to do by the physiotherapist in the first place, no one seen to want to take on the resposibility of helping her properly on the task of recovery, as the result of this I was given option to sign up for ABI network community support and take her home.
Little did we know, ABI or Brain injury community support is really, specific on community support, meaning, they offer programs and activity for people that suffered from brain injury.. but Annie's condition is still requiring investigation which we are receiving very little.
1. We waited 2 months for her to enter CHIRS Community Support Programs, that was okay, but isn't really helping her overall condition
2. Her family doctor, and physiatrist both send referral to psychiatrist, family doctor sent one to the hospital she was last at, which is local, and physiatrist sent one to Toronto Western Hospital, either have contacted us back
3. There are other community programs havn't even responded back yet since Jan.
Other then these things nothing else are being done for investigating her condition and what we should do next, even keep moving on isn't suggested either, it is really turn into a halt with the health system, where we are not recommended to move forward or otherwise, everyone just sort of protecting themselves, or helping with things that isn't the core problem.
my wife was discharged from the hospital on Jan. 4th, for the past 5 months or so I have been the only person taking care of her very much 24/7, I am unable to generate extra income and now things have becoming much more expensive, mainly due to transportation and diffculty to budget, it is a tramedious amount of stress taking care of her when most of the things about her condition requires myself to figure out by experience,
Things have improved a bit now and this week we went to a few appointments and have new plans set with doctors, referrals is now going to be reinvestigated, some of these things sound promising but then after so long now with new plans it is going to take time, and same effort to move forward from this day,
I like to ask you if you are willing to help us out now to help us relieve some of the financial stress we are having at the moment so we can continue moving forward on the recovery process with a bit of breather
I like to thank you ahead of time for your support!
