Hello everyone,
My name is William Sanders Sr. I am the founder of Team Sanders Inc. After School Program and a special education teacher in Warren, Ohio.
On October 16th, while watching the evening news, I saw a News report about a woman who was killed in a motel room. That following morning, when I arrived at work, I was notified that the woman who was killed was a close family friend of a students family in my classroom. During this conversation it was mentioned that she left behind children and the children needed a place to live.
Right away, I knew something needed to be done. I reached out to The Warren Family Mission and Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership to see how we could help. Through this partnership, we acquired a house that we thought only needed a fresh coat of paint, a few minor improvements, and some major elbow grease. Right away I was excited, but that feeling did not last long. During the transitional period from the previous owners to now, the house was vandalized. Someone stole the hot water heater, the furnace, the entire shower, and they event took the kitchen sink. A project that could have potentially been completed before Christmas and given this family a new start, has slowed down tremendously.
I am asking for your help so that we can get this family into this home before Christmas.
Project needs: Kitchen cabninets and sink, two bathroom sinks, two full showers, two toilets, hot water heater, furnace, refrigerator, stove, 4 bunkbeds, 1 full size bed (teen bed), 1 queen size bed (parents bed), house paint and supplies, cleaning supplies, funds to pay for installation.
Project wants: washer and dryer, furniture for each room, tv , new clothes for the kids, Christmas lights, Christmas tree, Christmas gifts.
Currently, the father is the only one who knows about the house. Before Christmas day, we will have the volunteers and our partners at the house to surprise the kids as they walk into the door. He is so thankful already for the support that has been shown by the community and so am I. This holiday WE can truly make these children have a happy holiday.
