Donna Stephenson’s cancer drugs.

I’ve opened a GoFundMe page to help fund medication for my sister Donna Stephenson.
Donna is 49 years old , has a partner Nick and has 3 children the youngest being 12 years old.
In 2014 my sister Donna was diagnosed with advanced Fallopian tube cancer grade 3C. After surgery and chemotherapy she was able to spend sometime in remission. While Donna was in remission I was also diagnosed with cancer in June 2015. My cancer is breast, bone and liver which is terminal.
Not long after this, we found out that our cancer is linked as we both have the faulty BRCA gene along with several other members of our family.
Donna has since had a re-occurrence and her cancer is also terminal. After more chemotherapy Donna was prescribed Olaparib to control her cancer. This drug was not available on the NHS and has been funded since January 2017 by her insurance company. The drug is working for Donna and her lastest scan in November has shown the disease is stable.
This medication has given Donna a year of making memories with with us all.
This medication is still not available for Donna on the NHS and her insurance company will no longer fund it.
For Donna to carry on with this medication the drug company have agreed to prescribe it to her on the condition she funds 15 cycles herself. As her insurance company have already funded 14 cycles I’m hoping I can raise enough for just one more cycle to continue this much needed drug.
Donna so deserves that extra time so she can make more memories. Hopefully this medication will give her that extra time we so want her to have.
We have both had great support through our cancer journey and we are both so very grateful.
Being sisters and both having cancer we are a great support to each other.
We know exactly how each other feels. She is always there for me just like I am for her and I’ve always promised her if I can help her in anyway I will.
She so deserves that extra time to make precious memories with us all.
