Care for Caroline

Ten-year-old Caroline was waiting for the school bus with her brother, 6-year-old Jack. A car turns the corner, coming toward them, and she bravely pushes her brother out of harm’s way. However, the car catches her backpack, tossing her on the side of the road with Jack lying in her lap.

Every parent's nightmare came to reality yesterday for Eric Scholz, a single father of five children, four girls and a boy. Caroline, his youngest daughter, has a broken pelvic and underwent surgery for a deep laceration on her thigh. Nonetheless, she's been a trooper but that's no surprise after her heroic act in protecting her little brother.
 
This family is tight knit. Anyone who knows them sees the strength, honor and morals they hold. Eric works full time for Kyle Office Solutions and is doing his best to keep the family’s head above water. However, after this tragedy, they will need our help with medical expenses, household bills while Eric is off of work, and the mounting expense it will take to travel back and forward to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.
