Rebuilding After the Flood

About 5:30 AM Monday I was woken up by my best friend. Hurricane Irma had already put a couple of inches of water in my appartment. By the time it stoped rising the water was up to my knees. I was caught so unprepared I was only able to save a couple of setimental keepsakes. Just about all of mine and my fiance's worldly posessions were lost. What's left easily fit into a 10' x 10' storage unit.

Our apartment complex (Village West owned by The Collier Companies) was no help at all. Only thing we were told was to get out and don't come back untill we're finished. So we're basicly homeless now. Luckilly we have temporary housing. We won't be going back to that apartment.

Once we're in a new place to live we need to replace all of our furniture, for starters. Hopefully our computers are ok but we won't know for sure untill we find a new place to live and set them up again.

I'm asking for $2,000 because I figured that would make a pretty sizeable dent in furniture for our new home. Honestly I know I need a lot more than this, but this would really get us started.
