Hope For Jamey

James Libengood Jr is a 20 year old from Freeport, PA with a complex medical history. His diagnoses include Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (we believe in the bile ducts or the liver itself), Chronic Daily Migraine, NASH related cirrohsis of the liver, Portal Hypertension, an enlarged spleen, Gilbert's Syndrome, and Psoriasis.

Jamey is currently trying to study for his GED inbetween pain flairs. He's having a rough go of it. The headache hasn't let up in months, and it causes dizzyness and extreme sensitivity to light and noise.

He loves video games, our family ferret, hanging with his friends, and torturing his baby brother. He even made it out to one of his brothers football games this year.

He has a laugh that shakes the house, a smile that lights up his whole being and a temper that can make you cringe.  He also has a heart the size of Pennsylvania itself. (although he does his best to hide it.)

In the future, Jamey wants to be a special education teacher and possibly coach the sport he loves the most, football. He credits many fine teachers from South Buffalo, Freeport Area Junior High, Freeport Area Senior High, and the coordinater of the YES program for that decision as well as his football coach who he holds the utmost respect for.

His out of pocket medical expenses are high. And financially, we are sunk. There are many months we have to choose between meals and medications. I honestly don't know where we would be without my parents and they can ill afford what they have loaned us. He's been turned down for social security, although he will reapply. My husband is blessed to work for a fair employer who cares for his employees and makes a decent wage with good benefits. Those benefits have been a lifesaver, but unfortunately, they are not enough.

I currently do not work in order to take care of both Jamey and my Mom. It was not an easy choice to make, I loved working, but I love my son more.

In the years he has been ill, we've had to give up our home, our car is in danger of repossession, and the outlook for our financial future is bleak. We are not a wasteful family. I gladly sacrifice so that the boys can have, Jim works six days a week. We have relyed on the help of some wonderful friends, and family. Begging for money is not easy for us. Letting people know how bad it really is doesn't come easy. There is just no choice.

Even if you can not donate, you can help out by sharing this page on your social media. Just click the share button on the page. Shares and prayers are as greatly appreciated as the generousity of a cash donation. Every dime will go to a medical related expense be it travel, appointments, medications, meeting his basic needs  or building his transplant fund.  Any and all ideas on how I could possibly raise funds would be greatly appreciated.

Please help me save my son's life. He has so much to offer the world if he is just given a chance.
