PanAmerican Bike Ride for NAMI

Donation protected
On September 1st I will begin a journey near the top of the world in Prudhoe Bay Alaska.

I will ride solo, travelling by bicycle over 19000 miles to the bottom of the world - Ushuaia, Argentina.

I am undertaking this challenge to help raise public awareness of the benefits that regular exercise can offer to those battling mental illness and raise money benefitting the National Alliance on Mental Illness, specifically their "Hearts and Minds" campaign.

NAMI HEARTS AND MINDS

Via this site, I am trying to raise money to help facilitate my undertaking.  100% of funds raised here will go to support the ride itself.  Flights, Equipment, Rations, Emergency and Rest Lodging, and Medical Expenses (if incurred). All expenses not covered by the fund raising effort will be paid by myself.

PANAMERICAN RIDE DONATION PAGE

I am actively looking for sponsorship and will be live tweeting and blogging the ride, expected to take 1 year, where a signal is available.  Thanks to my current sponsors my goal has dropped from 13k to 9k.  They are wonderful!

Current Sponsors:

Caledonia Spirits

Hero Apicus Nutrition

I will be doing this to generate support for NAMI, any sponsors that offer their support, and raise awareness and funds for NAMI. The target goal for the campaign benefitting NAMI is $100,000.

NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of all those affected by mental illness. This includes persons with mental illness, their families, friends, employers, the law enforcement community and policy makers. NAMI engages in advocacy, research, support and education though over 1,100 local affiliates, 50 state offices, offices in Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia, and a national office. NAMI is a 501(c) 3 charity and any memorial donation you make is tax deductible. NAMI has been rated by Worth magazine as among the top 100 charities "most likely to save the world" and has been given an "A+" rating by The American Institute of Philanthropy for efficient and effective use of charitable dollars. NAMI has also been given 4 out of 4 stars by The Charity Navigator for short-term spending practices and long-term sustainability.
