Help Amanda get back on her feet
If you know Amanda, you love Amanda. She is one of the most generous and kindhearted people I know. Life has handed her a basket of (really crummy) lemons, and she needs our help to make the best rum punch with those lemons.
On March 2, 2014 Amanda was admitted to Ben Taub Hospital in Houston Texas with a severe infection in her leg. She was given I.V. antibiotics and had to undergo 2 separate invasive procedures to treat the infection. Several days later (nearly a week) she was released from the hospital and currently she has a physician ordered nurse come to her home to change the wound dressing. The last time she had similar medical issue the cost was $6000.00+, and it is expected to be much more this time.
On top of all of her health issues, Amanda was fired from her job because she was in the hospital too long. Unfortunately she has little recourse because the company is very small and does not have to abide by many of the federal laws in place to help protect workers. On top of that lawyers cost money.
Now, the bills are starting to pile up the car note is due, insurance, rent, food and all of those other things we require to live our lives. Anything amount you can donate would help. Remember this is the lady who will cook you breakfast, make you coffee in the morning, feed you when you are hungry and give you her last cigarette.
