Hello everyone.  As some of you know Jay Rowe was found by his wife, Autumn, on Monday night on the floor of their bathroom, barely conscious and vomiting massive amounts of blood.  He is suffering from severe internal complications  and severe internal bleeding from an Upper Gastrointestinal Bleed.   If not for the incredible paramedics, surgeons, doctors and nurses of the Piedmont Henry Hospital, we would have lost my brother who is still in the hospital fighting for his life.

Since his several endoscopic surgeries and angiograms the doctors have still not been able to isolate exactly where his internal bleeding is coming from but they have used the information from the angiogram to effectively turn off the blood supply to the region where they believe the bleeding is occurring.  The doctors’ efforts have been hampered in that there is so much blood in his stomach and GI tract that they cannot figure out exactly where the blood is coming from.

Jay is currently in critical but stable condition after the procedures above but he has a long way to go.  He has so fard had 10 blood transfusions and is being monitored the next few days in hopes his hemoglobin and blood panels show improvement which means the bleeding has stopped.  Jay has bleeding ulcerts which we are to believe are being cuased by a hiatal hernia that has pushed his stomach up high into his chest and stretched it from under his diaphragm across the top of his chest, which then squeeze on his diaphragm.  Once the bleeding is properly stopped Jay will need to undergo additional surgery to pull his stomach back down out of his chest while also addressing the hernia as well as the ulcers give the surgeons will be able to get to them.  This process could go one of two ways.  If the bleeding stays gone, they can attempt laparoscopicly, however if the bleeding reoccures over the next few days they may have to enter surgically cutting open his abdomen which could potentially be very dangerous. This could result in Jay losing the half of his stomach that is in the top part of his chest due to additional trauma it suffered from the stretching and pressure caused by the hernia.

Jay works hard every day of his life as a husband and a father of two girls, one little boy with another one on the way.  Jay and Autumn found out they were expecting three days before this emergency.  Jay has built a business around his passion of bodybuilding and weightlifting and is the owner of Rowe Fitness Solutions 24/7 in McDonough, GA.  Jay and Autumn love the community of people they have built at their facility.  Jay competes nationally as a IFBB professional bodybuilder
and provides professional training services to clients from all walks of life at his gym.   He was two weeks away from his next professional show, where he would compete in the Tampa Pro, and then a week later in the Sacramento Pro.  He has had an excellent prep and felt he was bringing his best package ever to stage right before this emergency happened.

Jay is the sole source of income for his family and he was told a hard truth by the doctors in that following his surgery he will have a long road to recovery and will have to undergo a major lifestyle change for up to a year or even two, to accommodate the internal changes that were necessary to keep him alive.  While Jay will eventually be able to continue providing guidance and training for his clients he will be off of his feet for the next many months while he heals from the current surgeries and prepares for the next ones.

Jay has been a prime example of what is to stand on your own and build a solid foundation for your family.  Unfortunately, we learn that sometimes, that isn't enough.  Jay and Autumn are starting to get a clearer idea of the costs of multiple surgeries and his stay in the ICU, and it is yet another daunting task that they have before them all while trying to run their business while they are not able to be there.

The gathering of family and friends and the outpouring of love and support for Jay and his family in the wake of this horrible injury has been truly overwhelming, in a great way.  The outpouring of love from the church family at TPC has lifted them even more in Christ in such a tramatic dark time in their life.  Many family and friends have spent hours at the hospital offering comfort and showing support.  Others have come from across the country to help take care of the family or look after the gym.  For everything they are greatful.

If you have a few dollars that are not working for you right now, please consider donating to help Jay and his Family overcome this crisis.  It's always darkest just before the dawn, and it is particularly dark at the moment, but with enough time, love and prayers, Jay will be back.  These injuries can knock him down, even force him to start from scratch, but with your help, and Gods healing hands, he will get back up.

Our sincerest thanks to each and every one of you.
