Nicole's Adventures Abroad

Hello! If you already don’t know, my name is Nicole Fredericks and I’m currently studying Theatre Production and Media Studies (with a little Sociology on the side) at Beloit College. I chose Beloit because of its amazing study abroad options, and now the golden hour has arrived. This upcoming spring I will studying in Copenhagen, Denmark where I will be taking classes about European and Danish-specific art and culture. This means language, storytelling, performance art, and more! If I’m lucky enough, I’ll also be able to work on my personal research project studying the behavior of performance audience members. In Denmark I hope to look at the relationship between history and culture on audience behavior.

My grand adventure this upcoming spring will include some traipsing through Scandinavia and nearby European countries. I mean, if you’re going to experience Europe, why not dream big? Hopefully this trip will also conclude with being able to finally visit my aunt in Burkina Faso!

Now I don’t plan on leaving anyone without anything in return. My trusty camera will be with me the whole time, documenting my (mis)adventures as I go. I’m also planning on creating some short films based on poems and short stories I’ve fallen in love with over the years. Whether the Northern Lights, ancient castles, fairy tales, or abundant amounts of snow are your thing, I’ll make sure to send pictures and stories your way!

Now seeing the world (or a portion of it, for that matter) isn’t super cheap, even on the strictest of budgets. So help me live large (and by that I mean feed myself, pay for school, and find a cheap roof) out in the world by donating a little. Every penny, nickel, dime, and dollar helps!
