A 2nd Chance At Life "Stem Cells"

Donation protected
January 2, 2015 is a day I will never forget. One day can change your life. One day can change everything. It did for me.

While heading to the city to pursue my dream of being a singer, I was shot by someone I had never met or even shared a word with. And for that, I lost the use of my body from a bullet that wasn’t meant for me. I am paralyzed and can’t move my legs or arms.

Ever since this day, I’ve been fighting for the return and use of my body, something given to me from birth but taken from me for no reason. I’ve tried to work out, do physical therapy, but nothing is helping me recover. I’ve tried everything, and despite the lack of a drastic change, I’ve continued to fight.

For the past three years I’ve prayed every day for God to not only heal me and help me but to protect my family from being put in the same predicament. I’ve cried; I’ve been angry and depressed. But one thing I have yet to do is give up. I beleive that God only gives us tests that we can succeed in. Maybe this is mine.

My faith in God and the determination of my mother to find the right person to help me led us to do a lot of research. We came across a place in Panama that is doing amazing work with stem cells. The Stem Cell Institute of Panama City uses a groundbreaking method for paralysis. Now, there’s no guarantee that this treatment will fully heal me, but I’ve tried everything else, and this is my last option. I really feel deep down in my heart that this will help.

Hope is so close at hand. However, my mother spent a lot to care for me and to try to get me as close to any recovery as I could. You may wonder why I am not trying stem cells in America; each one I went to turned me down due to the fact that my injury was from a bullet. It’s sad because I was just trying to reach people with my music and be a good son to my mom and support her. I live a prayer-filled life, and was studying to be a corrections officer so I can have a good salary while I work on my music. And all I needed was someone to give me a chance because I know if I would of receive stem cells I would be walking by now.

That’s why I’m asking you--people I’ve never met but who may just be willing to help me fight and recover--to please donate what you can. Please, from the kindness of your hearts, help me, even if it’s just a few dollars. Every lit bit goes a long way. I will be praying for all of you and will be eternally grateful.

I know it’s a lot to ask for, but I am very grateful for each and every one of you. If you read my story and were moved to donate, allow me to say thank you now. I appreciate your kindness from the bottom of my heart. If you were only able to offer up a prayer for me today, thank you, and I will be praying for you, too. May God bless you. Thank you once again.
