Lindsey's Transplant!

LINDSEY'S STORY
When Lindsey was 16 years old she found out that she was born without a uterus after undergoing many doctor visits, test, blood draws, and exams. This was devastating to Lindsey because she has always felt that her calling was to be a mom.

Then Lindsey and  Blake met while both attending at Abilene Christian University and were married in April of 2011.  Shortly after that they became foster parents. While being foster parents, they adopted two young brothers and are in the process of adopting their third son.  Lindsey and Blake absolutely love their 3 boys and know they have enriched and blessed their lives. However, Lindsey still wants the opportunity to experience pregnancy.
That is when she decided to do some research and came across an article about uterine transplants being done in Sweden. She reached out to the team of doctors and have stayed in contact with them for several years. Uterine transplants have never been done in the United States before, and the team of doctors began their search for candidates.  Blake and Lindsey flew to Cleveland to meet with the team and they have been chosen to be one of their candidates! Since Lindsey was 16, she has been praying to God that there could be some way that she could have and carry her own babies, and now her prayers have been answered with this opportunity. Because the transplant has never been done in the state and is still considered "research or experimental," Lindsey's medical expenses are being covered. However, their family is responsible for paying for traveling and living expenses while in Cleveland. After the initial transplant, Lindsey will be required to stay in Cleveland for up to 3 or 4 months. And then a year later, (hopefully with a successful pregnancy) will be back in Cleveland for up to 5 months. Because of the length of time, Blake and the boys will be staying in Cleveland with Lindsey. This will require Blake to use all of his vacation, holiday, and sick time for the duration of his absence.  There will also be times that family members and friends will  travel to Ohio to help take care of Lindsey and the boys.
We know that God did not bring them this far for it not to work out because of finances. God does not call the equipped, but equips those who are called! Any amount will help, and if you can not donate please keep this beautiful family in your prayers.
