Dustyn's Recovery Fund

$3,918 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 72 people in 58 months
My Son Dustyn was recently a victim of a reprhensible violent attack. Many people have seen the news report.  We are trying to raise money to help with his recovery. He had a swastika carved into his forehead amongst many other injuries. We have financial expenses getting him to and from Dr apts, mental health apts and court appearances. We would like to get Dustyn into some self defense course to help him deal with the attack and to help him feel empowered to have the ability to defend himself. He is grateful for all the messages of support and it has renewed our faith in society that so many complete strangers and friends have offered kind words of support.Dustyn will need on going psychological help for many years.  Thank you to everyone for the support and offers of help from our entire family.

Hi everyone, Well as a lot of you may already know the last teen was sentenced yesterday. He was given 11 years. He will go to hill crest youth facility until he is 25 and then to Adult prison for the last year. Dustyn and our family our relieved that the court proceedings are over and all of his attackers are starting their actual prison time,. I don't know if you know that the kids who were tried as adults have to do day for day of their sentence, no time off for good behavior and no credit for time served. We do feel that
we have justice for the crime's committed. As a parent I can tell you that I think they could have received more time, because my son will spend a long time learning to deal with the PTSD. But Dustyn is a survivor and he has come a long way in the healing process. We will continue to support him and be there for him always. Dustyn will be going to alternative school instead of getting his GED, he really wants to graduate and then go to college for Auto mechanics. We are trying to get him ready for school, getting him school supplies and clothes, but money is tight. I was recently diagnosed with fibro-mialga and have had to take time off from work while the Dr. gets the pain under control. We are still trying to put money aside for Dustyns future counseling, and college classes. Dustyn and I are truly blessed to have so many people that we don't even know donate to this fund and offer kind words of support. We would like to Thank everyone again for this. I don't know what we would have done without your kindness.

Sincerely,

Kelli,Dustyn and the whole Murrain Family
