Homeless & Senior Hero’s

Donation protected
Homeless and Senior Hero’s (HSH) is a non profit concept project of Wellness Breakthrough Therapy of Downey, California. HSH is under development to foster a possible partial solution to a series of growling societal problems related to returning vets, the homeless and an aging population. HSH is designed to attack all three problems by creating an environment where all three issues can thrive and grow while supporting each other.Fundamentally, HSH creates a stable and productive home and work environment whereby returning vets and qualified homeless occupy provided housing from which they are required to deliver help and support to Downer aging seniors and ultimately to other communities. Services provided to seniors include but are not limited to the following:House CleaningLawn CareTransportationShoppingSimple household repairs and maintenance I.e., maintaining smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, removing trash, changing light bulbs etc.All seniors who are homeowners are requested to donate $25 a month to offset the cost of the above services. The project will launch in Downey only until such time as success is demonstrated and/or additional funds and personnel are available to manage and grow the project beyond the city limits of Downey. The hurst participants are not asking for handouts! They are requesting a supporting hand and a strong wish to “Stand By Us” as they work through the details of providing a successful environment for all of the above. The above photo is of one of our first adopters, Mr William (Bill) Hayes, a long time resident of Downey and graduate of Warren High School. Bill, or Billy as many know him. Has been homeless for about a decade. Bill is not nor has ever been a panhandler. Actually, Bill became involved in the tool and die industry and worked his way up to supervisor of a large tool and die shop in the local area prior to becoming homeless. Bill is well known and highly respected by those who know him. He does handyman jobs for many homeowners in the local area, all of whom know he is homeless. Bill no longer desires to be part of the homeless lifestyle and is giving considerable help in organizing the HSH project established. We believe and hope our fellow citizens across this great land of ours will find this grassroots effort worthy and will participate in our long term success which takes another step in proving the values of our experiment in Democracy. Our gratitude will be constantly expressed as we move this project forward. Thank you in advance for any and all of your most kind considerations!
