BABScon versus Student Debt!
Ladies and gentlemen, fillies and colts, internet fans of all ages!
I have been invited to Panel for the Bay Area Brony Spectacular convention, but the cost of such a venture is not only beyond my meager means; it is equivalent to almost half my student debt, which thanks to my brilliant and amazing parents is essentially my only debt. I cannot prepare to spend the money I would need to fly to San Francisco knowing that it is equal to such a large portion of my own debt. However, I feel guilty letting down those who had the bravery and respect for my work to approach me with this offer.
Therefore I offer a third option, and that option is asking for money from other sources. Not only to pay for my trip, but also to pay my student debt. I choose to ask those that admire me, for whatever reason, to support me. I know many of you might feel that this is a frivolous endeavor on my part, but to be honest I have never truly had a paying job; the job training I am currently undertaking is my best bet to make it into any industry. I have zero income, save a few lucky breaks on tax returns. So I ask to those of you that have more real life experience: help me. Please. If you don't or if you can't, I won't be upset, though a lingering disappointment might be in the books. But if you do, I will be extremely grateful.
In fact, I will be so grateful that I'll be motivated to give you something in return. If you give me twenty dollars, I'll review something of yours since my opinion apparently matters that much. If you give me fifty, why, I'll be inspired to write something that you want me to write! And for those of you that go full hog and donate a full hundred... I know a few artistic sorts who might just be willing to make you a personalized picture.
I should note those rewards aren't going to overlap. If you give me a hundred dollars you can choose one picture, two stories, or five reviews. Or one story and two reviews.
In addition to the personalized rewards, I'll give you all something special as we hit checkmarks on our way! If you pay off the lesser half of my debt at 1300 dollars, I will write a SONG for BABScon! It's not going to be orchestral or anything, though. If you manage to pay off all my debt, at the 2700 dollar mark then be sure to look around BABScon for an exclusive mini-tale by yours truly. If after all this, you hit the goal of 4000 dollars, I'll have enough money to confirm I'll be there! And, for a super special rare diamond friendship awesome bonus feat, if you all go above and beyond and get me 6000 dollars... well, like I said before, I know a few artsy types, and I maaaaay be able to talk one into doing something incredible.
So, to sum up: You all are amazing, and your support of my work is incredible. I have my own problems, but I really do want to meet each and every one of you. Can you help me with my problems so I can come to BABScon? I would be eversomostgrateful.
