Carter

In order to be "GoFundMe" compliant, I was asked to update this story to ensure that the campaign funds will go towards it's intended purpose. 

On Friday, February 1, 2019 our community was shook by a murder-suicide that left a man killing himself on Facebook Live, a mother who is currently fighting with everything in her to live, and the death of 6 year old Carter. I received a call from Carter’s school that his father, who I know well, wanted to talk with me. The pain in this father’s face was enough to make me see what I can do to help the family have a funeral for Carter with out worry as they continue to be there for his mother while she fights!!!

So being from this community (Dayton, OH) and serving this community for over 25 years, I wanted to do one of the things that I am gifted at, and that is bringing the community together to help meet needs. So as mentioned, I have no blood relation to this family, but I have a very tight bond with the father of this young man whose life was taken at a young age. I don't do this for recognition, I do this because there are those in our community who are hurting and they need support at this time. 

So my goal is to raise $2,700 for the funeral cost. We have been in contact with the funeral home and the cemetery and they are all working to help this family as well. The cemetery has made it possible where the burial plot and the headstone are being donated to the family as well as had balloons donated for the balloon launch. 

So you see, the community has been touched by this tragedy and are responding like I knew the community would. 

The funds raised will be used solely for the funeral expenses and I will personally withdraw the funds to pay the expenses to ensure that thus family walks away with a zero balance for Carter's homegoing celebration! Those who donate to this campaign will know that there funds were used for its intended purpose. 

If there is funds left over, they will be used to help take care of the mother who is still in the hospital fighting for her own recovery!
