6th Grade Camp 2018 Rooosevelt MS

6th Grade Science Camp not only provides hands-on science instruction that raises expectations and standards, it also develops positive feeling and memories about school and the outdoors, increases connection and builds culture and community. For generations, 6th Grade Camp was a common experience shared by almost every San Diego Unified student, but sadly, this opportunity fell victim to budget cuts. The students at Roosevelt International Middle School come from 10 inner-city elementary schools with very different cultures and demographic and need all the benefits 6th Grade Camp provides. No longer a district-sponsored event, the Friends of Roosevelt Foundation sponsors an annual trip to Camp Cuyamaca over Spring Break. Parents who can afford it pay the cost of $350 per student, but with more than 85% of our families low-income, we rely on fundraising to help provide scholarships for students who need financial help. 6th Grade Camp is one of the most memorable experiences for many middle school students. Your tax-deductible donation directly to the Friends of Roosevelt Foundation will help us provide this wonderful opportunity to every student who wants to go.
