Help Support Hayes-Evensen Family
Amanda Hayes asked that we share with those of you who have not heard the news she is grieving the loss of her mother, Kimberly (Kimmy) Hayes. We are all devastated by the loss of this wonderful daughter, mother, wife, and dear friend. Kimmy passed away in a tragic car accident Friday. Drew Evensen, her husband is still in the hospital please pray for his healing, and for peace and comfort for the family of Kimmy and Drew. If you would like to contribute to help support the families, you can donate here.
Dude. Seriously? We had plans. I'm teaching Women's Studies and you haven't even congratualted me on finally getting back to work. I'm so sorry this happened to you, to Amanda and of course to Drew. I'm so sorry I didn't show up for stuff, that I didn't buy that table I liked in the picture. I'm so sad, my heart is like a permanantly bruised mango. I can't imagine what those who have been the closest these past few years are going through. It shoudn't be this way, but you and I have always known the world is full of things that suck and shouldn't be, you were just so much better at seeing the bright side, and when you couldn't see it you'd just create it. This sucks. It really does, but you did everything you set out to do. You came and you made your mark on the world and you changed people, made your communities and the world a better place. You taught me so much about strength, courage, going your own way, determination, making shit happen. You will be in my heart forever as you continue to inspire me to move forward and take charge of my life. Maholo and Aloha...
Please send me friend requests at facebook and there is a group page called, Rest in paradise, Kimmy Hayes, where there are daily updates on Drews progress and even a schedule for his visitors. We finally got to be with him on Monday and he is allowed visitors now. You can post a photo, leave a message, and there are stories from their friends. It will be easy to notify everybody when Kimmys memorial will be when Drew is well enough to be there.
Hello to all who have come to this page, contributed, left kind messages and support. Amanda, and Drew appreciate the love as much as me. To all of you have left contact information, thank you! We will be following up with replies just as soon as possible. I'm terribly sad that we are reconnecting with some of you after so many years under such sad circumstances. Thank you to everybody for all of the kind support. It means very much to all of us.
Dear Amanda, I met you only once about 2 years ago. My mom Chris Hanley & I came to visit you & Kimmy. We have all been close friends for many years. My mom & I would love to reach out to you & your grandma Kate. Please email or call me. (707) 364-0929. C_seabreeze@yahoo.com (((((HUGS))))) Charisa.
Dear Kate, Amanda & Drew - There are no words that can ease your pain, I know. Kate, I was there when Kimmie was born, I hold you now close to my heart as you held me close when Justin died. May all the color and lightness of spirit that we have created and shared throughout the years sustain you now - I love you and miss you...Chris
I am so saddened to hear such tragic news. I briefly met Kimmie and her then fiance Drew once on a weekend trip to Portland. Their kind hearts and joyous spirits left a deep impression on me, and I will always remember their smiles and love for each other. Kimmie left to soon but will be forever a ray of light for those fortunate enough to have known her.
My heart goes out to all of her family and friends, especially to Drew and Amanda. I met Kimmy on The Knot when we were both planning our destination weddings. She was a very sweet woman with such wonderful goals and plans. My love to all of you during this difficult time.
Another group of us were talking about this, and someone suggested the clever name the Cupcake Fund, in honor of her most fitting nickname. We will absolutely be donating when we can this week. =)
