Buy the Block

I represent Quality Living Options Bendigo Inc - a registered charity, a group of over 50 ageing parents and  carers of adult children with intellectual disabilities.  We are all in our 60's, 70's and some into their 80's. Our key concern relates to who will care for our children once we are no longer able to do so ourselves. Many of our parents have lovingly cared for their children for 40-50 years thus limiting their ability to sustain a job outside the home and putting them and their children in  vulnerable position. We have now realised we will have to find our own answers. We plan to create our own solution by building purpose-built accommodation where our adults will receive appropriate, ongoing care and a secure home for the future.  To begin - we need to buy suitable land on which to build a community where they can live in safety, where they can live to the best of their ability and develop their potential whilst we are still around to support them through the transition. Our project is urgent, we need the funds as soon as possible. We are ageing rapidly and many of us now need to look after ourselves.  Funds to buy the land will allow us to make a vital start to our project and begin to relieve the anxiety we all live with. We would be immensely grateful for any donations to our quest that will not only help us to start but will continue to yield support and independence for disabled people in future.
