Hello all,
My name is Drake Thompson and my journey into weightlifting started in August 2015. Since then I have competed in four meets, all of which I placed first except the first one where I placed second. I am currently the Ohio State Champion and University National Champion for the 105 kg weightclass.
After winning the University National Championship, I was selected to represent the United States and Sinclair Community College at the World University Games In Taipei this August. The games take place every four years preceeding the summer Olympics by a year.
It is my responsibility to raise money to attend the event as an athlete. The United States does not financially support its athletes in out of country competitions.
