As many of you know Grace and Lilly are both in Bristol Children's Hospital with dilated cardiomyopathy. Grace is currently on full life support after consistently going downhill despite being on HDU three weeks ago and Lilly is sedated and ventilated on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. The doctors have been unable to identify why both the girls have this condition which is impeding their efforts to find a way to fix the cardiomyopathy. This is an incredibly rare situation and the top cardiologist in Bristol has only ever seen this once, 15 years ago, with a mother and daughter. Despite repeated tests the doctors are now having to use resources outside of the country to try and find answers. Unfortunately, due to funding in the NHS, they are limited as to what they can do research wise and we are asking for people to support us and help us raise funds to find the answers for these two little girls. Any donation of any size will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for taking the time to read our plea. I have put our target as £1500 but we don't know how much we are going to need to get the information reviewed at a hospital in Germany so hoping we can raise as much as possible.
ETA Grace has now been taken off bypass but both girls are still ventilated and have an extremely difficult and long journey ahead of them. Doctors still need to find the cause of the dilated cardiomyopathy to save these girls.
