Carter was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma on December 6, 2018. While this is curable, Carter will need surgery and chemotherapy for the next nine months. This news was unexpected and devastating for our family.
Carter, a senior at Rocky Mountain High School, will miss much of his senior year. He is unable to play for the varsity basketball team, an accomplishment he worked so hard to achieve.
Our family has been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support we have received from family, friends and our community. Asking for help is difficult but we know people want to support Carter. Any funds raised will help offset Carter’s medical expenses, travel, lodging and meals back and forth to Children’s Hospital in Denver (90 miles from our home), and will allow Mike and I to take time off from work to care for Carter.
We truly appreciate the concern we’ve received. We are grateful to you all.
