Stigwood Art

Donation protected
Music producer Robert Stigwood was born in Australia but lived in Whippingham near the Town of East Cowes at Barton Manor. The Great Storm of 1987 blew down a tree at Barton Manor which resulted in The Celebrated Isle of Wight sculpture Norman Gaches creating a fascinating piece of friends as Greek characters.Upon Robert Stigwood moving away from the Isle of Wight to his new home in Ascot had the Artwork transported with him however upon arriving at his new home the Artwork could not be delivered which resulted in a local Garden Centre taking care of it. Robert Stigwood died on 4th January 2016 with the Art Work remaining at the Garden Centre.County Councillor Karl Love of East Cowes & I whom visited the Garden Centre have, with the permission of Barton Manor, Garden Centre and the Secretary for Robert Stigwood have given their blessing for our community to return what remains of the Stigwood Art as it has deteriorated in parts to The Isle of Wight and placed on display in East Cowes for All to enjoy and also adds to the Facanating rich history of East Cowes & Whippingham. We believe for the Art to return to our Island along with treatment and a suitable stand for it to be placed upon would cost no more than £5000.May we respectfully ask that you would all support us in our endeavours in returning the Stigwood Art to East Cowes & Whippingham as we endeavour to, *Preserving The legacy of East Cowes. *Preserving The legacy of Robert Stigwood.*Preserving The legacy of Norman Gauches.*Placing our Town of East Cowes & Island upon the International Stage to The Contribution to the World of Music and The Arts.
