Thailand Mission Trip
Donation protected
Dearest Friends and Family,
This coming June I have the incredible privilege of leading a Northwest University mission team to Thailand. I am both nervous and excited as the team prepares for two weeks of ministry in the city of Hat Yai. I am writing this letter in hopes of building both financial and spiritual support as I prepare with the team for our trip.
Last year I was able to participate in a mission trip through Northwest University to Costa Rica. We volunteered at several Christian Schools, worked with an after school program for poor and at risk boys and girls, helped paint a school, and participated in local church services. Having never been outside the US/Canada before, my trip to Costa Rica vastly impacted my outlook on life and my role in this world as a follower of Jesus. Seeing the immense joy of the children who have next to nothing has profoundly influenced my walk with God. Not only was I personally impacted, but, more importantly, seeing the positive impact a small group of college students was able to make on the children we ministered to was well worth the thousands of miles traveled.
With this experience in mind, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a group to Thailand. While in Asia, we will split our time between teaching English at the local university campus and assisting the poor living in the city’s slums through various service activities. We will also take part in local church services and be available to serve the community wherever there is need. I will be going with three other amazing Northwest students as well as my incredible fiancé Mariah who’s invaluable mission experience in SE Asia will not only help the success of this team, but also provide an amazing opportunity for relational growth just a month before our wedding. In addition, we will be joining up with a Chi Alpha team of other college students from Virginia Tech for part of our ministry time. Our primary goal in going to Thailand is to glorify the name of Jesus Christ and to show others the incredible love of God. Whether it is through teaching English to 20 year olds, interacting with strangers on the street, or assisting those of every age living in great poverty, our aim is to tell others about the hope found in Jesus and love them in a way that is honoring to God.
Because of the significant cost of international travel, I am in need of $1,600 dollars to pay the remaining cost of this trip (which covers airfare, lodging, transportation, and food). From the very beginning of the planning process, I have felt God’s guiding hand in such a strong way. I know that He wants to use this team in a significant way to bring glory to His name and I am trusting Him to provide the financial funds needed! If you are interested in giving, there are three ways to do so:
1) By personal check or cash mailed to
11113 NE 125th Ln. #E-118 Kirkland WA, 98034
2) Online at Northwest University’s Mission Donations page found at https://apply.northwestu.edu/give/studentmissions/ (you will have to specify my name)
3) Right here on my GoFundMe page
I also would like to ask for support through your prayers. I know this trip will come with it’s share of challenges, but I am confident that God is preparing this team for a great work and I would like to ask my friends and family to believe that with me. Thank you all in advance for your support! Whether it is financially or through prayer, your support means the world to me.
Much love,
Zachary
