“Movember”

Once again, this November, I will be cultivating a slug-like lip toupee to match my brows. This time around, I will be raising funds for a worthy cause rather than simply donating. Growing a moustache specifically for the duration of November is an undertaking very typically associated with the Movember Foundation. A charity which, *IMO*, is somewhat exclusionary, and conventionally glosses over certain mental health issues faced both by men and women.Due to a focus on ostensibly masculine afflictions, I have decided to donate any proceeds raised to the Scottish Association for Mental Health, a domestic charity providing mental health & social care support for all through various avenues, which include; suicide prevention, mental health outreach, active living, homelessness and several others. Though domestic, I believe that the work of this charity is further-reaching. As such, I’ll be using this opportunity to appropriate the moustache-growing concept, but in aid of the issues which are in greatest need of support and are closest to my heart.Any donation, big or small, will be hugely appreciated.Thx.PS: this is not in any way intended to undermine the great work done by the Movember Foundation xox
