Help Toby have eye removal surgery!

Donation protected
Meet Toby aka Miss Willie, an 8 month old, spayed female, with one blind eye that was rescued from Pennsylvania. Miss Willie sat silently in the crate as I drove home that afternoon. What would have seemed to be a stressful transition for this young kitty was nothing of the sort. He greeted our family with only love and affection. He endured his first... and second bath (along with my 17 yr old daughter, Haley, who graciously agreed to get on her bathing suit and jump in with Miss Willie.. claws and all). We knew we needed to separate Miss Willie from our other animals because he had a little cold. Well, after seeing our vet the next morning the list seemed overwhelming:
Our spayed miss willie was not a little miss after all... she was a neutered male! This was not an issue:) It was all the other little things that were heartbreaking... worms, upper respiratory infection, malnourished, and worse of all, the blind eye has glaucoma and needs to be removed. Our vet says that glaucoma is very painful but very treatable! The good news is that he doesn't have leukemia! He needs to eat well, gain some weight, finish all his medications and in about 1 month will be ready to have the surgery to remove his eye. Unfortunately, we don't qualify for financial help for this surgery and were unable to attain a loan through Care Credit.
We have made the decision to keep Toby and find a way to pay for his surgery instead of surrendering him to a shelter where we wouldn't know what would happen to him. I believe everything happens for a reason and we must need him as much as he needs us! When I was contemplating all of this I was reminded of a story:
A young man is walking along the ocean and sees a beach on which thousands and thousands of starfish have washed ashore. Further along he sees an old man, walking slowly and stooping often, picking up one starfish after another and tossing each one gently into the ocean.
"Why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?," he asks.
"Because the sun is up and the tide is going out and if I don't throw them further in they will die."
"But, old man, don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it! You can't possibly save them all, you can't even save one-tenth of them. In fact, even if you work all day, your efforts won't make any difference at all."
The old man listened calmly and then bent down to pick up another starfish and threw it into the sea. "It made a difference to that one."

Would you help us make a difference for Toby?

Thank you!
