Stolen Van=Stolen Hope 4Wheelchair
Donation protected
We are the Guzman Nuñez family and we have five children, one of them, Sebastian is 8 years old and has special needs. He is unable to mobilize himself and is wheelchair bound. On Wednesday last week our minivan (a Toyota Sienna) was stolen from our home while we were asleep. We are completely devastated as this was the only mode of transportation for our son and his large 55lbs wheelchair. A week before it was stolen we had purchased a new car seat to temporarily accommodate his growing needs. On top of this, our insurance does not have theft coverage and at this moment and we are financially unable to purchase a new vehicle. As we are increasingly aware of our sons growing needs and our inability to continue to be able to lift him into a vehicle. We had been saving to adapt our van to a wheelchair accessible one with a ramp. These modifications alone are over $35,000. We now need to find a way to purchase a new van and make it wheel chair accessible. The people that stole our van also stole our hope for a safe way to transport our son. We are a single income home as one parent is needed to care for Sebastian’s high needs. For these reasons, we are graciously asking you for your assistance, any amount you are able to donate, we would be eternally grateful. Also, please keep your eyes open for a blue Toyota Sienna. We would be so happy to have ours returned.
