On Halloween 2015, 7 year-old Jared Callan suffered a horrific accident when his costume caught on fire from a lit jack-o-lantern.  Within seconds, his mom rolled him on the ground, but he sustained 2nd & 3rd degree burns over 35% of his torso.  He is facing a minimum of 30 days hospitalization and at least 3 skin graft procedures.  He has two sisters who witnessed the accident.  The family needs funding for missed income, medical bills, post-hospitalization treatments, and beyond.   Your donation would mean so much to this family in their time of crisis.  Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

New Update, Jared's had some great days and is progressing nicely. He's been able to walk around a bit and can move his right hand and left arm enough to play his gameboy. There are no more surgeries planned in the near future. They now have to focus on healing and therapies. As always, Jared and his family are grateful for all of the well wishes, love and support.

New Update! Yesterday was a good day. Jared was in the OR yesterday for bandage changes and to check the grafts. Almost all of the grafts took and they don't foresee more surgery necessary at the moment. Selena decorated his room with all of the cards and gifts he's been sent. The nursing staff can't believe how much stuff Jared's friends and family have sent him. He has lots to do. Once again, they're thankful for all of the love and prayers.

Here's an update on Jared: he was in surgery today starting at 9:00am and returned to his room by 6:00pm. He had extensive grafting with donor sites from many areas of his body. Both of his arms are in braces, so he will not have use of his arms or hands for a few weeks. He has to go back to the OR on Friday to have his bandages changed, check his healing and see if another surgery is needed. He's in pain. It will get worse before it gets better. Selena says he's a strong boy and barely complains.

Selena and Mike said they could not get through this without everyone's support and help. She said she and Mike are hanging in there. Jared was happy this weekend because his sisters came and visited him. The medical staff and Child Life staff at the hospital have been wonderful with Jared and his sisters. Again, they are very grateful for everyone's prayers, love and support.

Karen, I just recently found out about this. Selena's always been someone I have admired. God Bless her family, especially Jared, victim of such a freak accident. My thoughts and prayers are with Jared and his family.
