5 Year Old Needs Life-saving Surgery

Donation protected
This is the story of Hind, a 5 year-old girl suffering from Hydrocephalus, a life-threatening condition that has left her partially paralyzed and taken away not only her ability to walk, but has deprived her of a childhood that she may never survive to grow through if she does not receive the medical attention she needs. Hind’s mom and dad are hardworking, loving and caring parents, who have been struggling to support her, given Hind has two other siblings, also suffering from severe medical conditions. Her brother, 4 year-old Ali Moumneh, is also currently suffering from cystic fibrosis and experiences continuous respiratory distress, also requiring ongoing expensive and extensive treatments. As hardworking and desperate the Moumneh parents are to help their children, these chronic illnesses have left them with no choice but to turn to the public for help. The parents have turned to national news stations in their home country Lebanon, as well as talk shows and social media to share their story and ask for support. As a sister amongst siblings myself, who has grown up and watched my family and community grow up with the challenges of an unaffordable and unfair healthcare system in Lebanon, I know first-hand how traumatizing these circumstances feel. As a mother of two girls that have grown to be safe, happy and healthy in a country like Canada that provides affordable healthcare for all, I feel obligated to do what I can to give back to other parents and families who have not been so fortunate to have the bare minimum living conditions to survive. I ask anyone who knows what it’s like to see a loved one suffer, or out of gratefulness that you have never had to, I urge you to take a minute to give what you can to support this struggling family. ANY contribution at all, isn’t going towards a present, a toy, or school books, it’s to save a life, and to keep a family together. I have reached out to this family personally, and will do whatever I can to support them. I’m also turning to my friends and family and anyone else reading this post to ask for your humanity, and support for this family. Please think about what you can do to change the story of this family from one of sadness and struggle to one of love, support, community and life. Our goal is to reach $70,000 USD to support these children’s surgeries that need to be performed as soon as possible. All medical reports and media coverage is available for sharing if requested. We thank everyone for donating and sharing this with your family and friends. Your support means the world to this family. Thank you.
