Legal Assistance for Sexual Assault

It is 4/9/17, and we are sitting calmly in the living room, enjoying a good laugh at some things we are finding on facebook.... My wife starts laughing hysterically at a post shared by a friend, involving a horse playing with a zipper on someone's

jacket, so she scrolls to see who shared it, thinking about tagging her little sister, who adores horses, in this video.

Her eyes widen, her face becomes pale, and she lets out a scream.... Not a joyful scream, not a scream because she saw a spider....... A scream that someone only happens to someone who is feeling a great amount of fear. She jumps up, she runs to the bedroom, and she buries her face in a pillow hoping to hide the stream of tears descending down her face. Hoping to hide the shame and fear.

I sit down next to her, I ask her "Sweetheart, what is going on? Are you ok?"

She manages to mutter out thru stutter and tears "Panic attack, It was him. It was the man who raped me when I was 15. He's the one who took me into the woods, pinned me against a tree... and..and.... raped me."

I ran to the living room, retrieved her phone and took a screenshot of the man's face who was responsible for the last 7 years of pain my wife has endured while being too afraid to say his name. 

Mind you not only did this man rape my wife, but he walked her home after. To her front door.

It has been 7 years, my wife was a minor at the time, and the individual is an adult. 

Now he serves the US Army behind a false mask of valor and pride to hide his shame, but my wife still remembers every horrible vivid detail. She remembered the very tree it happened on(2nd photo), which she took me to, to revisit the memories, and to take photos to bring to light of the event that happened....

The police have opened an investigation, but the man now knows we are going out with this and it has been 7 years, it is her word against his..... and to my greatest dismay and horror, immediately after finding out, left his stations at Fort Riley, Kansas and began driving back to Washington State. We fear he is headed for my wife, or for our children. 

We fear that he has done this to other women, or continues to do so.... 

We fear that he is going to walk away from this again, and not repent for the heinous act he committed

So I am asking that PLEASE for women's rights, and the safety our wives and daughters everywhere, that you donate a small amount... Anything, anything at all is better than nothing, to help secure a lawyer and any other legal assistance we may need for this case. 

My wife and I are both victims of sexual abuse, but I have no idea what it is like to be a woman on that side of the spectrum.... Let alone fear him coming back.

Please.... Help me bring my wife Justice and peace of mind.
