Many Americans would say Thanksgiving is their favorite holiday, as it is an occasion for families to gather, eat plenty of good food, and perhaps watch a game or two. Thanksgiving also provides us with a much needed break from our hectic lives to pause, reflect, and give thanks for all that we have.
However, for many Americans the holiday season brings stress and uncertainty. In the time it has taken you to read this two people have died of hunger. 1 in 6 Americans face hunger. And in our land of wealth and prosperity there are nearly 50 million Americans who are unsure when or where their next meal will come from.
The 5th Annual 100 Dreams Turkey Drive aims to tackle the national hunger epidemic within the Nashville Community. We aim to give 100 families, 1,000 people, in our community a “ready to eat” Thanksgiving basket. Filled with a Turkey and numerous side dishes all prepared by local chef, Chef Batts.
Since 2013 ASPIRE's BE THE DREAM FOUNDATION has partnered with champions for the cause 101.1 the BEAT Jermaine "Starlito" Shute, Chef Batts, Dominique & Cody Sensabaugh, and Robert Higging along with a host of others. We will be holding a giving campaign through the month of November that will run through the 20th. The purpose is to raise $5,500 to feed families in the East Nashville community.
