Team Help Mark Carr is a fundraising account for Mark Carr and his family. On Tuesday, September 22, while riding his bicycle around Lake Overholser, Mark Carr suffered both an ascending and descending aortic dissection (aneurysm). Mark’s father, Linwood Carr, passed away at the age of 53 from this same affliction. Mark is only 41. We are already counting Mark’s circumstance as a miracle. He was given only a 10 % chance of living through his surgery. Each day that percentage grows as Mark is recovering well.
Mark, and his lovely wife, Darcy have spent most of their lives serving the needs of others and spreading the Gospel in the pastoral ministry. They have recently returned to their home state of Oklahoma to start a new chapter in their lives. In serving others, Mark and Darcy are not of a nature to seek assistance or ask for help.
Unfortunately, Mark and Darcy do not have short term disability insurance, and the medical bills are piling up quickly. We are hoping initially to raise at least three months of living expenses as both of them have been at their current jobs a short time and do not have much paid leave accumulated and it will be exhausted very soon. In fact, Darcy must return to work this week.
Many have already asked how they could help. So, we as concerned family and friends want to pay it forward in minimizing the financial stress for them at this time. We are certain that there are many whose lives have been touched by the legacy of the Carrs and the Crosswhites who would count it as an honor to help in a small way. Please help us minimize the unexpted expenses from this event.
After Mark’s condition improves, we will reevaluate if there is a greater need.
