Ravnhel Has Passed R.I.P

Donation protected
Ravnhel was a stray that had wandered into my apartment complex only a few weeks after I had lost my own beautiful dog to Uveodermatologic - A syndrome that is a rare disease in which the dog’s immune system forms antibodies against its own pigment cells in the skin and light-sensing cells in the back of the eye. It causes red, painful eyes, skin depigmentation on the face and footpads, and premature whitening of the hair. Because the skin and hair issues are cosmetic, treatment focuses on the eye problems, which are typically ongoing and can lead to permanent blindness.

When I saw Ravnhel he was so ridiculously underfed that his figure was that of a painful looking hourglass.  He had a choke chain that had been welded around his throat so that I could not slip it off and had to get maintenance to cut it off of him. Though tired, dehydrated and underfed he was still trusting. He allowed me to lower to my knee and pet him, check him out and feel to see if he had been fixed without a single growl. After the loss of Koko I felt he was an option to help a dog in need after feeling I had failed Koko, though Koko's disease was not something I could fix or make go away.

I am starting this fund to help with Ravnhel. He's been sweet, quiet, trusting and very grafetul for his food and the home he's been given but he will need shots and very specific food.

He is an older dog, at least seven but with a lot of life in him. I can see he has issues squatting to use the restroom as his legs shake. This may be from being malnourished or his age.. it could be a mixture of both and his eyes already have that faint fog over them that comes of age in animals.

I am hoping to be able to afford the immunization shots and particular tests he will need to rule out any surprise attack diseases, proper controlled diet for his pancreatis problems and give him a comfortable and safe home instead of his home being on the streets.

ANY donation is welcome at all to help support this sweet, discarded boy who's had the gentlest of spirits and kindest of responses to children, strangers and other fellow canines.  At his age he may have a long way to go or he may not but in his time here I want him the happiest he's ever been.

To all those who take the time to read this I thank you. Most do not read or simply skim and pass up these. I'll keep this page updated with his vet visit today and how he is doing. At the moment he is hiding beneath my computer desk at my feet and nuzzling in against my legs.

I hope that generosity can be found in helping support this sweet boy continue to climb up hill and enjoy his "golden" years.
