i need some help. my dad is 42 years old and dying. when i was a freshman in high school my dad had a heart attack, lost his job, and was very ill.when i was a sophomore in high school i dropped out to be by his side everyday. he formed epilepsy. he was on no medication and having over 20 seizures a day. so many a day he would forget his name and who i was. i have 3 younger siblings i am the oldest. we moved to washington to seek better treatment and options. medical marijuana saved my dads life. he wants from 20 seizures to maybe one every other day. soon marijuana wasn’t cutting it. he was prescribed a seizure medication that he takes twice every day. but they’ve made him even more sick. his meds cause him to vomit anything he eats. he’s lost so much weight that he weighs just the same as me. a 115 lb 19 year old girl. he vomits so much he becomes very dehydrated and malnourished to the point of hospitalization. multiple times his kidneys have almost completely failed him. and it’s a scary thing when a doctor tells you any later and he could have died. also bc the pills make him vomit, he isn’t able to keep them down completely causing him to have seizures. this is not the life i wish for my dad, he deserves so much better. i can’t afford the extra exams and tests he may need. i do believe past the epilepsy there’s something wrong in his digestive system causing him to suffer so much. my dad hates going to the doctor because he knows he can’t afford it. because he is so young he doesn’t qualify for seniors benefits at all. and has been deemed a person with a terminal illness. that’s all. with so much debt he refuses to continue to dig himself in a hole but i need him to see more doctors to get better!i’m afraid my dad cannot endure much more of this pain and suffering, and i know i can’t lose him yet.
