News Anchor Speaks Out

$4,567 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 126 people in 2 months
Hi, I am Brittany Noble Jones the former Morning Anchor at WJTV 12 in Jackson, Mississippi.
I am best known for calling myself into work and reporting the death of Mike Brown after he was shot and killed by police in my Ferguson, Missouri neighborhood. I shared his story on Instagram and it helped spark the Black Lives Matter movement that we know today.
I recently made headlines after I posted a blog on Medium about my experience reporting in the Confederacy. While many people had a hard time digesting all the terrible things my boss said about my "unprofessional natural hair," I was more concerned about the stories impacting the Black community that are constantly swept under the rug in local news.
I want to keep my blog going. I have worked in Arkansas, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio and Missouri. I have so many “untold stories” to share. If you like my work and want to support me - here is a way to keep me afloat without relying on a corporation.
Thank you family for the support. Let's connect. www.thenoblejournalist.com
