Aloha friends, family, and friends of Wally,
As you may already know, our dear brother, Dr. Walter Tatsuno, has recently been diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP). CIDP is a neurological disorder that at its onset, progressively weakens and impairs the sensory function in the legs and arms. As a result, Wally is experiencing great loss of movement in his legs, loss of strength in his limbs, difficulty breathing, and is currently bedridden.
An avid outdoorsman and athlete, second degree black belt, surfer, who once placed third in the Baja Open longboard contest, and true Tatsuno fisherman, Wally is suffering. It pains us to see him have no physical capabilities. He is currently being treated in Honolulu, Hawaii; however, his condition requires immediate attention by West Coast physicians at Cedars-Sinai. He is having difficulty communicating and is in extreme emotional and mental discomfort. Even in spite of all of his challenges, Wally has not asked for any monetary or emotional support.
As his family, we ask for your prayers and any monetary donations for his transportation, treatment, and skilled hospital care. Our goal is to bring Wally home this week for the immediate treatment that he severely needs. These funds will solely go towards partially covering his flight, immediate treatment, and skilled nursing for the care he deserves. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support!
Sincerely, on behalf of Wally Tatsuno,
The Tatsuno Family
