Evacuated family needs a home
Click here to watch our news article Mary ,Tyler, and 10month old Tyler II, have been evacuated for two weeks now from our home in Pahoa, Hawaii because of the current Volcanic conditions in the area. Our home was burgularized and they took even our very means of electricity and gardening tools which was our last hope to bring in some sort of income until we figure out where we are going to live. We are now unsure when we will be able to return home. The current volcanic activities here in Hawaii's Big island has displaced so many families! There are not enough affordable rooms or housing available. So like many people, we have taken up camping on the other side of the island and staying with friends. This is the safest area possible. This insures less earthquakes, vog(toxic volcanic air), lava, and Ash plumes. Tyler lost his job as the lava changed course and Mary lost her minimal income from managing Vacation rentals in the area. This has left our family to live off of the small emergency funds we had and it has quickly run out! Please help our new little family get a new start! We would like to have some normalcy and stability by getting into a little space of our own. This means help with Food, utility deposits and bills, rent for the first month, housing deposit, cost of shelter until finding a home, and car maintenance, etc. Please help with what you can and from the heart! Prayers are greatly appreciated! Also accepting needed supplies via mail at: Mary Binkley PO box 684 Pahoa hi 96778 Recommended supplies are gas masks and filters rated for volcanic activity, diapers (size 4 and 5), clothing (size 18 month and up) , baby toys and books, and off grid/camping supplies.+ Read More
Mahalo to EVERYONE for your support, I thought I would update everyone! I (Mary) did get a part time job working from my computer, which I do at the coffee shop in town for now. We have a safe dry place to stay for now! It is off grid. Meaning no electricity or running water. We have used the funds so far on two new solar panels, port a potty rental for the property, Gas, propane for cooking, satellite internet installation, food, and rent. Thank you to everyone who has helped us through Prayers, monetary donations, thoughts, and even shares, it is ALL appreciated! We could really use your help getting settled again and getting some consistency/normalcy back in our lives. Please share our campaign and help get the word out! We still need help with a bit more crucial things! We need a 40amp mppt charge controller, 800 watt inverter, wires and cables for the solar set up, 2 deep cycle marine batteries, car maintenance, tires, lawn maintenance equipment, and basic house hold items to name a few . We truly appreciate all of you and so thankful. This has been such a humbling experience for us all. We can never thank you all enough!
Tyler went to check on our home today and get the weed whacker and chainsaw in hopes to make some money for our family doing some side jobs until finding something more permanent. However, our home has been burgularized! Our only means of electricity our generator and solar panels and set up gone, weed whacker and chainsaw gone, tools and who knows what else, all gone! Thankfully our home is still standing!
