Please Help Our Cancer Fight

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.

I met the most wonderful woman 10 years ago and we have been inseparable ever since. She is my wife now having got married in 2016. We were planning a long happy future together but unfortunately life had other plans.

On our wedding day.

Tracey was diagnosed with cervical cancer back in February 2015 aged just 27. Ourselves, family and friends were utterly devastated at the news but Traceys positivity kept us all going.

She was given chemotherapy radiotherapy and brachytherapy as a treatment but unfortunately this didn’t cure her and she was then given a total hysterectomy to remove the remaining cancer.

A few months later it was discovered that this had also not cured her and the cancer was in her lymph nodes in her pelvic area on both sides. Further radiotherapy treatment was also unsuccessful and standard treatment options have been exhausted.

Having received lots of support throughout her treatment Tracey wanted to give something back and managed to raise £11,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Maggie’s centre in Dundee, Scotland by shaving off her hair for a Brave the Shave campaign.

Last month we were told Tracey had been accepted onto a trial for immunotherapy, a new cancer treatment that’s had success in previous trials. Unfortunately the numbers for the trial were cut and Tracey was removed from the trial. This was another major blow to our hopes.

At the moment Tracey is currently recovering from surgery to remove a blockage from her small bowel which has been causing her major issues since November 2017. She will hopefully be back on her feet this week. She will take a while to recover from this before we can start treatment.

We are now fundraising to have her treated privately at clinic in Germany who use immunotherapy as a treatment.  The estimated costs are around £90,000 but we are asking for £70,000 as we have a certain amount we can put towards this ourselves. This treatment can potentially cure Tracey.

There are friends taking part in different events which will also be a fantastic help. I understand times are hard for people but please spare anything you can to help us. I can't imagine life without Tracey by my side.

Tracey has a blog she started late last year. Please feel free to have a look:
