Zachs Medical Fund
Zach was in a motorcycle accident on May 6th. He was on his way home on Rebecca Lake Road when he hit a guardrail. He was flung from his bike about 50 feet and has many injuries including- broken pelvis, two broken legs, a collapsed lung, fractured face, broken eye socket, along with internal bleeding and a bleed outside his skull. I’m making this GoFund me in hopes to help make sure he is on the right path to recovery and to spread the word. If you can donate, we would greatly appreciate that, but if not, please just provide prayers and good vibes. We love him and have high hopes he will pull through this.I will keep you posted as the days go on. He is currently in the ICU now and hooked up to a respirator. Thank you and please keep him in your prayers.+ Read More
Another big day for Zach! He finally moved down from the ICU and is in a lower level/less intense room. Which means he doesn’t need as much attention/care. He is still super irritated and keeps asking to go home, but he knows all of our names and is still the witty, stubborn guy we all know and love. He was still polite enough to call me off the hospital phone when I left tonight around 11:30 to make sure I made it safe to my car. He will be hanging out for a while longer, but his speech has improved tremendously today and we were able to calm him enough to get a little bit of sleep. I just want to thank everyone this far and just say I’m SO relieved to be able to talk and laugh with him again. We love you Zach
These past couple days we have been letting Zach relax and get some rest/time alone. The doctors main focus now is to let him rest so his brain swelling doesn’t get worse. They are focusing on his blood pressure along with pulse. We just ask that you all wait to come visit/visit in small groups until he’s awake. This part in his recovery is very important so he doesn’t get agitated. He is coming along great though! His facial surgery is almost done and the rod was successfully put into his left leg. He still has a few more surgery’s on his foot and face/teeth, but other than that he’s improving every day! So keep the prayers coming. We love you Zach.
Zach came out of surgery not to long ago and is doing great. He had surgery on his face and teeth. He had to get a front tooth pulled and surgical braces put on. He will have to have more work done in the next couple weeks/months. He’s resting now and we just ask that visitors be kept to a minimum tomorrow so he can rest. He’s had a long couple days and tomorrow is the one day he doesn’t have anything scheduled. We’re hoping he can get a full day to just rest and heal. His brain injury is still staying the same which is great news. No more swelling. Things are looking up. Just keep praying
Goodmorning everyone. Zach is coming along great since his surgery yesterday. Yesterday he got surgery on his leg, feet, toes, and pelvic bone. He had to get a screw through the back of his pelvic bone and his bladder should heal on its own now that everything else internally around it is getting fixed. They got all the bone fragments cleaned up inside his leg and are preparing to put the rod in sometime later next week. Everything went great and we are just getting him prepped to go into surgery for his facial fractures along with his teeth. I’m not entirely sure if they will be able to get all of it done in one trip (I’m assuming no), but he’s strong enough to make it through. His brain scan came back the same this morning which is a HUGE plus. That means his brain injury isn’t getting worse. We did find out he has 13 broken ribs, but they will heal soon. In all, he’s doing SO good. He’s fighting so hard and is being wheened off the medication that’s putting him in a coma. He’s still not totally awake/conscious, but he’s more responsive and moving to cough. He wakes up/moves around periodically due to discomfort, but he’s able to relax and calm down. Everything’s been going smoothly and only positive things have happened since Sunday. Just keep praying for a speedy recovery thank you everyone
