Documentary

This fundraising effort will serve a multitude of purposes. First and foremost, it will continue an attempt to reestablish the highly successful AmericasCHILD RELAY Program, which directly served hundreds of children throughout North Carolina, Maryland, and Mississippi; and impacted several hundred more through its book giveaways and early literacy efforts.  Additionally it introduced an era of children, preteens and young people to the then new world of "hi-technology", as children 6-19 years of age wrote, produced and broadcast their own weekly TV shows (via community access TV); and broadcast "LIVE" productions of Greensboro (NC) City Council meetings and other "COMMUNITY ENHANCING" projects.

The program bore and/ or helped develop the careers of some 20-30 Engineers; Teachers/Educators; Entrepreneurs, Military Personnel (including several who served multiple tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan),actors and actresses, Medical Doctors, and other very productive careers.  These students graduated from MANY RENOUNED colleges and universities; including North Carolina A&T State and North Carolina Central University, UNC-Chapel Hill, East Carolina University, Harvard Medical School,  University of Bristol (UK), etc.

The second purpose of this project is to establish a "FIRST HAND ACCOUNT" of the various ERAs (past 60 plus years) of U.S. history through the real life experiences of Ted L Mangum.  The founder of RELAY and AmericasCHILD RELAY (www.americaschildrelay.com) and thus provide a true HISTORICAL ACCOUNT from the viewpoint of an African-American who has endured the trials, times, tribulations, triumphants, errors, defeats, and victories of MY LIFE.  It is my firm belief and hope that these documentaries (short & feature) will serve to inspire people of all races to face truth and move as individuals to advance the causes  THIS SOCIETY and for theBETTERMENT of ALL MANKIND.
