On November 24, 2015, my son Tashawn Manning was admitted to the hosptial because of  a bout of pneumonia that was not improving.  Following a full blood work up and a biopsy of his bone marrow, on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2015 my family was delivered  totally unexpected news about my 17 year old son condition. He was diagnosed with  Acute Myeloid Leukimia( AML).  Leukimia is a cancer of the blood-forming  cells that are produced in the bone marrow.  Only 1 out of every 5 children who have Leukimia will have AML, as it is a rare form of Leukimia. This cancer is not heriditary and scientist do not know the exact cause.
This news was totally unexpected.  It was only days prior,  my son was finishing up his gruling  online  classes in order to  graduate from high school and enroll into  college early.   He was on the path to begin his football career on the next level, at Auburn University, where he was to start in January 2016.
While the treatment prognosis for my son  is between 95 and 98 % curable, this  treatment will require  multiple trips each week  back and forth to the hospital, various doctor appointments,  multiple medications, medical supplies, and a special diet  items to prevent germs and bacteria from making him sick while he is being treated.
Many friends, school mates and family members have been wanting to know how they can help and show support for Tashawn.  Well, with his treatment, we will have to pay out of pocket an absorbant amount for the next 2.5 years,  to cover all medical expenses.
It would mean  so much to us,  if we were able to raise money to help cover some of the cost. We are asking for anyone who can and would like to help,  please help by dontating to this go fund me account.  The treatment for my son has already began, and we could use assistance with the cost as soon as today. No amount is too big or too small.
My son means the world to me and my family. He is a great kid,  he is humble and has done everything a parent could ask of a child. We are truly blessed to have such a postive prognosis  to work toward and are very thankful for any help as we journey down this long road  of fighting cancer.
We  sincerely thank each of you who  decide to share this  with others, those who decide to donate, and those who simply  keep us in prayer. We Thank You! #Teammanning # Alwayswinning

We are day 3 into round two of chemo. Tashawn is tolerating it well. His spirits are up after a visit from some legendary NFL hall of famers Marcus Allen and Richard Dent who stopped by the hospital yesterday. His appetite is good right now and his counts are steady. He has four weeks left of round two, with a two week break and then another 5 week cyle. As of the last biopsy, there were no cancer cells found! We thank every one for continued prayers and support.

Happy New Year! We made it through. Tashawn was able to spend not only Christmas, but also bring in the New Year at home! He has completed the initiation phase of chemo, and will begin phase two, next week pending his ANC count. We are praying it is high enough to allow his next phase to begin. Tashawn has been a trooper, his appetite has picked up and he is making progress.

The go fund me page has far exceeded our expectations. We are so thankful for all of the donations, that will be utilized and help Tashawn move forward. We are forever greatful.

Again, on behalf of Tashawn, we extend the sincerest Thank You to each individual and family who have whispered a prayer for Tashawn, called to ask how he was doing, those who made donations and those of you who sent cards. We thank you, we thank you!
War Eagle! Go Herd! Go Mustangs! God Bless. #TeamManning #Alwayswinning
