Hi My name is Ashley. I am making this fund for my amazing husband, Dionicio. He is in desperate need of surgery.
Let me start at the beginning. About a year and a half ago he started having severe pain in his stomach. At first we thought it was heartburn. Throughout the months he seemed to get worse and worse. We went to a doctor and she told him he had ulcers. She never did any tests just said this is what he has. We kept telling her something else was wrong. Within a few months he got worse and worse. He could't eat or drink. Every time he ate he threw it up. He couldn't even drink water. He ended up having to go to the ER. There they found he had a problem with his heart. So we went to a new doctor. He started to run tests. Then a few days later Dionicio came home from work vomiting and couldn't breathe. We took him to the doctor and they ran more tests. I kept telling the doctor something was seriously wrong. They kept telling me to wait and have patience. I told our doctor that if anything happened to my husband i would blame him for not helping him. So he told us to go to the emergency room and have an echo, and ct scan. That's when they found the problem. They found liquid around his lung and had to remove it. The hospital sent him to cardio thoracic surgeon because they found a problem with his lung. That surgeon said he needed surgery. Then they ran more tests and found out his condition was more serious than they thought. After all the tests and after seeing 6 different kinds of doctors they finally figured it out. His diaphragm is broken and his stomach, colon,and spleen are in his chest. His lung is basically collapsed because it is working less than 50%. His stomach is touching his pulmonary artery. They don't know if it is attached to the artery or just touching. His stomach is turned and if it continues to turn then the blood supply will be cut off. If that happens then his stomach will explode and cause gangrene. He needs this surgery! Every cardio thoracic surgeon told us they are not able to perform this type of surgery. We finally found a cardio thoracic surgeon that is able and willing to perform the surgery. They said he would have to stay in the the hospital for 3-4 days after the surgery. So they scheduled the surgery. Then his insurance refused to pay so they canceled his surgery. We have tried every avenue to get them to reschedule the surgery. They won't until we pay at least 50% before hand.
I need help! I am continuing to work, but I am unable to come up with that kind of money. Please help if you can. If you can't donate money please help in other ways. Please share this with friends and family and let them know how urgent this surgery is. Also, I own a window tint business and I also teach English and Spanish as second languages. We don't have that much of an income because I have been taking care of my husband and our business has been slow. He helps as much as he can. However, due to the problems with his lung he gets fatigued very easily. So he cannot help out as much as he wants to.
These funds that we receive will help pay for his surgery and for all the medical bills he has accumulated over the past year and a half. They told us he wouldn't be able to work for 6-8 weeks after the surgery. So with this help my husband will feel more relaxed. This will also allow me to care for him.
